From Sprint Triathlon to Ironman

This is the first in a series of C26 Athlete videos featuring Erika Jurkowski. Before triathlon, Erika was into body building, but it was tearing apart her body and mind. One day she stood in front of a panel of judges who were nit picking every part of her body and she asked herself a question: “Why am I doing this to myself?” That’s when she decided she wanted more out of her life and looked for something else that would build her up rather than break her down. Someone suggested triathlon, but like many, she couldn’t swim. But Erika doesn’t back down from challenges. She stuck her face in the water and learned, then slowly built the courage to do a sprint triathlon, then a Olympic, a Half, then a Full Ironman only a year and a half after she started.
